Having encountered numerous invasive investigations for infertility and then continued to endure 4 unsuccessful cycles of harrowing IVF treatment, my husband and I had all but given up on becoming a family. I recall my husband using the phrase 'Que Sera' many times during these proceedings and particularly as we were considering adoption. We decided to try to proceed with an adoption from China. After a 2 year adoption procedure we successfully passed approval with our local Social Services and then with Chinese officials and we flew to China in 2000 to meet our adorable baby girl and become parents for the first time. It was the most emotional experience of my life and I now would not change a thing of what went in the past.
Then, when I was at an arts & craft fair, with my darling daughter, some years ago, I came across the Scarlett stall and, low & behold, you had the 'Que Sera' collection on display.
I immediately purchased the necklace, bangle and ring (& have since bought the earrings too) which I treasure greatly as they are a constant reminder of the turmoil we went through and the happy ending we have achieved. My precious items make me SO happy when I wear them - thank you!
I have had mine for a few years now, and I love to hold it and roll it around when I'm feeling a bit anxious....It also reminds me of my sister...I used to sing 'Que sera Sara' to her when we were young!
Six years ago I worked with 4 girls who are now my best mates. I was made redundant and they bought me the Que Sera Sera gold bead. It meant the world to me. Every year since they have bought me a bead for my birthday.
My sister Johanna would often sing Doris Day's song ‘Que Sera Sera whatever will be will be’. When people in her company were losing jobs, she would be supportive and say don't worry- whatever will be, will be. Then, my dear sister Johanna was diagnosed with terminal cancer. As she went through tough treatment, she would say to me, whatever will be, will be. A co-worker bought her a bracelet with this phrase as a sign of hope to survive the cancer but my sister was not able to survive. I buried her with this bracelet. Now I wear a ‘Que Sera Sera’ necklace from Scarlett Jewellery to keep her story with me every day.
